You know, I haven’t been talking much about the new album (RAVEN HOTEL)…hell if we’re not Facebook friends you probably haven’t seen much news from me for nearly a year. But, all that is changing and I figured the first website post since the TMA award should be something special. So after being tight-lipped, it’s time to let a cat out of the bag…RAVEN HOTEL will be out at the end of March in Europe and with a U.S. release planned for June. It has already been voted #5 on the Euro Americana Chart for March…you can check that out at www.euroamericanachart.eu. Surprise! More news…coming soon!

While Rachel and I were relaxing and enjoying the sight of bluebonnets springing to life all around us during our Hill Country honeymoon, the folks at the Academy of Texas Music were hosting the Texas Music Awards in Linden, TX. Although we weren’t on hand to accept, they still picked me as the 2013 Singer-Songwriter of the Year! Woo-hoo!! Some of y’all were nice enough to go to the TMA website during the voting period and cast a ballot for me for the public portion of the vote. I appreciate your support and want you to know that I share my first Texas Music Award with you! (visitation rights could be tricky though…)

Well y’all, the fine folks at the Texas Music Awards and their friends have nominated me in the Singer/Songwriter of the Year category for this year’s awards. I’m honored to be on the list with some of my favorites from the Houston area and beyond. Well, we scraped in under the wire, but “Bow and Be Simple” managed to land the #25 spot on the Euro Americana Chart list of favorite albums of 2012…right below Ray Wylie Hubbard’s “The Grifter’s Hymnal“. Not a bad list to be on…I think I own almost all of the other 24 records. BIG THANKS to the EAC DJs that voted for us…and just for doing what they do day-in-day-out the rest of the year!
