“Are you a ‘goodie‘ or a ‘baddie’?” our oldest asked us each yesterday (she’s 3 going on thirty-three-and-a-third). I honestly didn’t know how our answers would hit. 2023 has been a year: a very good one, on balance. Easily an all-time, top-three kinda year. Still, it had all the markings of ‘a year’. Luckily, we were indeed deemed “goodies” although not by self-nominations alone. Turns out, some are merely allowed because, “you have to take the good with the bad.” So look out 2024: the goodies are coming, armed with gratitude, self-awareness, and the wisdom of the young.
